| It is one of the popular game of Poker in casinos. This game was introduced in Texas in early 1900s. This game was introduced in Las Vegas by a group of Texan gamblers and card players in 1967. The players included were Crandell Addington, Roscoe Weiser, Amarillo Slim and Doyle Brunson. One of from these players Addington said that he had seen this game first time in 1959. In this game player may use five community cards in any of the different combinations available. Player may own two hole cards. This game gaining popularity in 20th century. It gained popularity due to exposure on literature, Internet and Television. It replaced the 7 card stud which is the most common game at that time in US casinos. In this game each player starts the game with two cards only. The remaining cards are shared between all players. This game is preferred for strategic analysis. Like all other variations of poker in this game too player compete for money. In this game cards are dealt randomly and each player tried to hold the money in the hand as much he holds. Finally the pot which is amount of money collected by player themselves belongs to single player who wins the game. There are two possibilities of conclusion of hands. One is if the hand ends at shut down in which comparison of the hands takes place and the player having highest hand is awarded pot. The other one is if the player has folded the cards at that time the player who did not fold the cards wins and achieved the pot. In this game player generally bets blindly. These bets can be either small or big. The different variations of this game are limit hold 'em, no-limit hold 'em, and pot-limit hold 'em. |
